Many children took a long walk to reach us and learn something from us. Most of these children have never attended a school, others have been facing big challenges in their student journeys due to extreme poverty and some have never returned since the emergence of covid-19 in Angola in March 2020.

Many African women can still only dream of owning a smartphone and having access to the internet. Men, however, have long been able to surf the web. This inequality has significant political and economic consequences.

Sofonie Dala has the opportunity to bring their voices, ideas and solutions to the forefront of this diverse and valuable programme  to enable lasting change for local and global food systems.

Bridging the Digital Divide: Solutions by Sofonie Dala (talentosmultiplus.blogspot.com)

In 2021 she joined TFF® and started seeking all kinds of solutions to address the prevailing question: “How do we feed 10bn people on a hotter planet?”
We are delighted to officially announce the launch of our new brand campaign Thought For Food® with Sofonie Dala (tff-zero-hunger-angola.blogspot.com)
Sofonie Dala believes that poverty, environment, harmful economic systems, conflicts, and rapid population growth are the main causes of hunger.
We all know that there are populations who are suffering from the lack of food and water, with serious consequences, especially for children.

There is always someone who is hungry or thirsty and who needs us. We cannot delegate this to another. This poor person needs you, your help, your word, your commitment. We are all involved in this.

We celebrate next generation leader Sofonie Dala from Angola, for starting raising awareness about issues around consumerism  and over-consumption and the sustainability of lifestyles.

Currently, her major task is to develop a simplified systems map to grasp and visualize the interconnections of different challenges: poverty in rural, local communities, education, malnutrition in children, agriculture and the role of governments and big corporates, all being part of the Angolan food system.

In July 2022 she launched her new campaign ''Pride - Embrancing diversity-LGBTQ in Angola''. The analysis focused on whether people around Angola think that homosexuality should be accepted by society or not. The full question wording was, “Angola has decriminalized homosexuality. What's your opinion?

Project Stronger than Covid-19

Congratulations!

She got certified in design thinking as she developed products, services and solutions to the challenges faced by people in her community like hunger, misinformation & trust, depression, income insecurity and stalled learning.

Sofonie Dala received a certificate of participation from UNICEF, acknowledging her positive contribution in the fight against this pandemic.

As the impact of the lockdown, adopted to mitigate the coronavirus pandemic, has led Angola to fall into the grip of poverty and famine, I decided start Philanthropic Activities in order to support the most vulnerable people specially those affected by Covid- 19. This is to enable the poor have something to eat and also stay indoors.

The coronavirus, which causes the disease known as Covid-19, has killed thousands of people across the world and upended the lives and work of billions of others still lucky to count themselves alive. Governments across the globe have responded by imposing emergency rule and nationwide ‘lockdowns’, which force people to stay in their homes in a bid to slow down the spread of the virus.

In the next 5 years Sofonie Dala intends to create a community-based cooperative with a sustainable activity model that empowers women who live below the poverty line. By 2030, she hopes to empower and transform the lives of 50% of the 4 million illiterates who are left behind in the digital world in Angola.

She wants to ensure all girls have access to a quality and safe education by dismantling the barriers imposed by Covid-19, poverty, and gender inequality.

In the long run, her startup will help limit the ecological problems caused by disposable menstrual pads thrown into rivers and on the streets of rural areas where there is no municipal garbage collection.

Looking at the high unemployment and dropout rate within Angolan communities, Sofonie Dala sees her company as unique in solving these problems and contributing to the development of the economy.

Her aim is to break ground and have a big factory that can manufacture millions of reusable products and menstrual pads for women and girls, distribute to businesses, schools and health centers and  etc, in the next 5 years.
